CounselingI believe that we do not actively invite trouble into our lives. I believe that we all have capacity to change and grow. Life is complicated and confusing at times. Feelings are a natural part of life and are great warning signs that something might need attention. There are many reasons we may be struggling with anxiety, depression, or unwanted strong emotions. | TraumaTrauma effects us all. We may have been in a car accident, bush fire, been through a divorce, experienced sexual abuse, family violence, experienced a toxic work environment, had a devastating health diagnosis of oneself or a loved one, or are living the mental health roller coaster. Our life story may be filled with childhood trauma and abuse which effects who we are today. It’s not about what’s wrong but what’s happened! |
Life issuesThe cost of living rising every year, expensive housing, and pressure to always be busy, and happy are the backdrop to our lives. Long work hours, raising children, managing budgets and family issues can rob us of time to deal with things as they arise. Loneliness is one of society’s biggest issues. There are many people who find themselves separated from family and friends, or just don’t feel connected like they’d like to be. Social media is not a substitute for friendship. Sharing is both cathartic and healing | |
FamilyWe all grow up in a family of some kind, some nurturing and supporting us to grow into healthy adults, others not so nurturing. Overcoming a challenging family background where your needs were not met can take some time and people can benefit from greater understanding. All families experience conflict at different times. Sometimes some of the above life issues change the family patterns and things get stuck. Most family members love each other and want the best for their family. Another pair of eyes can help untangle families. |
